probiotic infusion ? |
I suspect metabolic 'Fecal Body Odor' is often a syndrome, based upon a genetic issue (in my opinion to do with FMO3 enzyme), but also has other factors that make up the syndrome. One of these factors might often be a certain type of 'gut dysbiosis'.
Over the last 10 years or so the idea of 'fecal transplantation' has become 'discussed' among the communities with disorders such as Ulcerative Colitis and other bowel disorders. I think it may have a role in 'fecal body odor syndrome' but prefer the idea of a 'probiotic enema' rather than a fecal transplant. My wariness is because with a fecal transplant I don't know what you are getting (good, bad and ugly ?)
So in the future I think there may be a role for probiotic infusions in disorders related to gut dysbiosis.
This paper seems to be looking for the right 'probiotic cocktail' mix for probiotic infusions, doing away with the need of a fecal donor.
Restoration of gut flora in mice using probiotic mix

So I will follow research into this with interest, though I do not know what to think of it currently.
