I have heard of Fecal Microbiota Transplantation therapy for maybe 10 years, always to do with gut disorders. The idea I guess, is to implant a stable gut microflora into a sufferer. It is not something I have regarded as a priority 'therapy' over the years, but slowly over time it sounds more feasible for gut disorders to do with gut dysbiosis. Here are 2 articles over the last few days which show fecal microbiome transplantation in a very good light. Personally I have always wondered if it would not be more appropriate to implant probiotics rather than fecal microbiota. However I am open to persuasion.

Doctors save toddler from killer infection by transplanting mother's faeces into his gut
I believe that 'gut dysbiosis' of some kind will often (perhaps always) be a part of the syndrome that makes up 'fecal body odor syndrome' (the other factor being genetics), so I have an interest in anything that helps with 'gut dysbiosis'
