A quick post on the bucket analogy again. This is true for any malodorous VOC circulating in people. Basically, if any enzyme (my guess, FMO3) cannot fully metabolize a load of any VOC it detoxifies, then the person ends up with that odorous compound circulating. It doesn't matter if they have normal enzyme function or subnormal enzyme function. The load is overloading the enzyme.
This is where the bucket analogy comes in again.
Someone with a genetic weakness has a smaller bucket.
someone with overgrowth has a normal bucket but a huge overload.
